There is a medical condition that causes a “ringing in the ear” known as Tinnitus. It is not a disease but a condition that can be caused from many different ear related issues. Basically what it is, is a noise in the ear often in the form of a ringing or clicking, ticking etc. While it can be very disturbing, it usually is where it stays, just an annoyance.
